Dr. Claudia-Santi Fernandes

Dr. Claudia-Santi F. Fernandes partners with young people to conduct rigorous science and translate it into real-world solutions. As Vice President of Research and Evaluation at Born This Way Foundation and as faculty at the Yale Child Study Center, she spearheads Born This Way Foundation's research initiatives to ensure young people have the tools, support, and trusted relationships they need to thrive. She is a practicing licensed professional counselor, trained behavioral scientist, and a proud trusted adult to thousands of young people. Her research and writing have been featured in national outlets, contributing to the public dialogue on youth mental health. Dr. Claudia's mission is to encourage adults to understand the power they have to be a trusted adult who works with and for young people in support of youth mental health and wellbeing.
