Emily Bell McCormick

Emily Bell McCormick is the President and Founder of The Policy Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that works to solve some of society’s biggest challenges and strengthen communities through healthy policy.

Under her leadership, The Policy Project successfully enacted The Period Project, an initiative that provides free period products in every K–12 girls’ and all-gender school bathroom across the state of Utah. With this effort, Utah became the first state to implement and fund a program of this scale. In its first year, the program impacted 337,000 students and is projected to reach 1.4 million unique individuals by 2065.

The Policy Project has also led other successfully funded statewide initiatives that received unanimous support from the Utah Legislature, including The Teen Center Project and The Safe Child Project. The organization’s current initiative is The Focused Student Project.
