Juliana Lozano is a bilingual therapist and nonprofit leader with over a decade of experience as a social worker. Raised in North Carolina, with family roots in Colombia, she is a first-generation college graduate who holds a Bachelor’s in Social Work from UNC Charlotte and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. In 2020, she founded Despierta, a Charlotte-based nonprofit providing culturally responsive mental health support and education for Latinas. Inspired by her own experiences with therapy, Juliana is committed to breaking the stigma around mental health and ensuring that women and youth have access to the resources they need to heal and thrive. In addition to leading Despierta, she serves as Vice President of the Safe Alliance Survivor Input Taskforce, working to improve services for survivors of violence.
