
Dr. Erin Truesdell
Dr. Erin Truesdell is an Assistant Professor of Informatics and director of the Play, Interfaces, and People Lab at New Jersey Institute of Technology. Dr. Truesdell has extensive experience working with serious games for learning and behavior change, alternative game controllers, and collaboration in play, as well as work on expressive computing initiatives for education including Skyscraper Games and EarSketch-CAI. She is particularly passionate about engaging young women and rural youth in creative computing, drawing on her own experiences growing up in Southwest NH. Her current work centers on the design, development, and implementation of serious games for education and healthcare across topics and platforms, including computational thinking, cybersecurity, digital privacy, and oncological emergencies, as well as explorations of the ways unusual computing interfaces can support play and collaboration.
