Lookupp

Samin Bhan is a first-year Computer Science student at Stanford University and a Cameron Impact Scholar, passionate about the intersection of technology, social impact, and mental health. He is the co-founder of Lookupp, a mobile app designed to revive in-person social interactions and tackle the mental health challenges. By leveraging behavioral science and community-driven incentives, Lookupp fosters meaningful face-to-face connections in an increasingly digital world.

Beyond the app, Samin leads the Lookupp Lab, a research initiative studying context-sensitive screen interactions to analyze how users engage with their phones in different social settings. The lab generates data-driven insights to inform better digital habits and interventions.

His work has earned national recognition, including being a Congressional App Challenge Winner and a Taco Bell/Ashoka Top 25 Changemaker (ages 16-26) for his innovative approach to youth mental health.

Through his work, Samin remains dedicated to reshaping the future of social connection at the intersection of technology, research, and behavioral science
